JAPAN INSPIRATIONS

Back from Japan, I am still filled with appreciation for the Japanese way of "doing" things,

now for me especially the handicraft to print on fabric.

There is something total, an aim to find perfection in every gesture that we have a lot to learn from.

In Japan, there is still a huge knowledge about the old way of printing by hand on fabric. The KATAZOME is the use of stencils, and rice glue protects the images from the dye. The HIKIZOME is dying with a big brush, not dipping the fabric into the dye.

Me using silkscreen...to learn these techniques could be very interesting. You never know where a new way of working will take you! I'm "reactivating" my studio now... new images on my screens, new white canvases... Everything is again possible!...

Art, Design, Philosophie de vie. Techniques creative. Inspirations.
